About Me

LWhitworth
This is my fourth year teaching Reading in Washington, DC. I love to read and want all my students to love reading and recognize the value of a good book. I hope that this blog provides you with ideas and resources to use in your classroom and inspire your students. One of the many ways we can ensure our students will learn more is through implementing discussion and literature circles. Literature cirlces are also a form of shared reading - another teaching strategy proven to increase and build comprehension skills. I have used every book mentioned in this blog in my own classroom. Please feel free to email me any ideas or questions. Thank you!
